How cold are you?

Er, isn't that Dalek?

They just closed my son's school for the rest of the week. The boiler isn't working right and they have no heat. And it is way too cold outside to have school when there is no heat.

To add to the excitement, they evacuated my half of the building because of a gas leak. Only I got here late and didn't know about the evacuation. So I sat in my office and wondered where everyone was for a couple hours.

I don't mind the cold, but most of the machinery around me seems to dislike it.

It's currently 13 degrees F. But the sun is shining and the ice on the trees is simply breathtaking.

Something tells me that I'm not welcomed here.

I live in S. Florida.

It's frikkin' freezing here, Mr. Bigglesworth...

Woohoo! It's back up to sain temperatures here! For a while there, I had to take a warm break along my 8-minute walk to class everyday, because by halfway I'd have lost all feeling from the waist down. Too damn cold. And I like winter.

Tonight it's a very resonable -4C (about 25 F, according to the handy conversion chart.)

Hey, Wormie, I must have been thinking about you and S. Florida last night 'cause I had a dream with Eris and another friend that involved an alligator. Eris thought I was trying to make her and the friend swim out to it (apparently we were doing live-action rp).

But then it started swimming toward us (for some reason it was in the ocean rather than in the Everglades). We were doing the slow-motion dream thing while trying to run away, but we managed to get away by the time it reached the shore.

And the dang thing was 13-feet long. Someone came along and put a sign on the fence saying, "Do not swim. Alligator."

We still love you, Wormie. I mean, Florida makes Texas look chilly. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

Now I'm scared to miss a gaming session again...

As if all those scary teeth weren't reminder enough. It was almost like a Jaws movie--except with an alligator.

So, Jace, should I be scared that you're already invading my dreams? And was it you who was the lawyer the other afternoon in my dreams telling me that yes, my husband could divorce me until our house was clean?

The sign at our zoo has:

"Please do not throw things at the Alligator"

"If you do you will

a) Be made to retrieve it

b) Be removed from the zoo premises"

I presume b) only happens if you aren't eaten by the Alligator during performing task a)
